Delhi Hosts Inter School Band Competition

The Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) organised the Inter School Band Competition at National Bal Bhavan, Kotla Road, New Delhi on Thursday.

This is an initiative undertaken for celebrating the 70 years of Independence and 75 years of the Quit India movement.

Special Secretary, Rina Ray, inaugurated the Competition and honored all the participants. Anil Swarup, Secretary, Dept. of School Education & Literacy, MHRD, gave away the prizes to the winning teams. Separate prizes were given to the teams securing 1st, 2nd, 3rd position in Girls and Boys Bands.

Participation certificates were given to all the participants. The event included March Past and Band performance. The theme of the programme is “70 Years of Independence.” Jury of the programme was invited from Deputy Commissioner of Police HQs.

Cultural performances by member children of National Bal Bhavan enthralled the audience. This included orchestra, Song and Dance performance on the theme of Independence.

Maneesh Garg, Joint Secretary, MHRD and Dr. Meenakshi Jolly, Director, Dept. of School Education & Literacy, MHRD who is also Director National Bal Bhavan were also present.
