New Book to Educate Children About Peanut Allergies

Can you recognize the signs and symptoms of a peanut or tree nut allergy reaction? In Heather Finn’s new book, Heroic Henry & the Nutty Bugs, Henry Hutter is a ten-year old boy who is nuts about peanut butter.

By far his favorite food, Henry is happy to eat it on anything and everything! And the fact that Henry’s little sister, Maggie, is allergic to peanuts and tree nuts doesn’t stop him from reaching for the peanut butter jar one bit.

Henry’s mom warns him over and over that peanuts and tree nuts can really hurt Maggie, but Henry doesn’t believe her—until the Nutty Bugs show up one day. Henry can hardly believe his eyes when he sees the little creatures crawling around his peanut butter jar.

But the Nutty Bugs are real, all right, and they have a thing or two to teach Henry about peanut and tree nut allergies – and what they can do to anyone with a nutty allergy.

This children’s book takes the complicated issue of peanut and tree nut allergies and makes it accessible and engaging for young children and their parents.

Perfect for helping young ones connect the dots between their actions and the possible consequences of those actions for others, Heroic Henry & the Nutty Bugs, is a must-read for school-age children.

Heather Finn is the author of the Bug Book series of children’s picture books. She was inspired to write her first Bug Book, Fabulous Farrah & the Sugar Bugs, while searching for fun, educational books to teach her children about good health and hygiene.

However, she quickly realized that good books are hard to find so she began to write her own. Heather lives with her husband and two children in Marblehead, Massachusetts.

The Bug Books are available from Little Harbor Books or online at amazon.com.
